He arrived.

Taking advantage of Lachlan having a lie in (doubt there'll be many more of those...) to update this.

The details: born 17.06.07 (my birthday, fathers day and 3 weeks early!)at 3.14am and weighing 6lb 3oz.

A labour of love

Thought I'd share the transformation of the spare room into the nursery, which H and I just put the finishing touches to today. Photos begin below this post.

My contribution mainly consisted of hanging about being 'supportive', making a few cups of tea for the painter and being confused by IKEA instructions. However, I did chose the paint colour and the highly important stuffed spotty hippo cushion/toy.

promises, promises

Well I think..know..that I am a bit behind in the photo-blogging of the ever expanding bump. I do intend to pose asap in all my 33 week glory. I keep getting told that I'm (or rather the bump is) 'awfully neat', which Im taking as a good thing - although theres still a rather big divide on whether its a boy or a girl and theres already a few pounds riding on the outcome.

H and I had a lovely relaxing time in Arran - mainly buying or eating local food or alternatively washing in or buying arran aromatic products :) At least our visit was good for the local economy! We both enjoyed a spa visit too, although my treatment was slightly spoiled by someone having an appendage in my rib cage for a good ten minutes or so...

Had a great weekend too with visits from the Skye lassies and husbands - funny to think we are all married now - and then a uni-folk catchup in Glasgow on Sunday.

Most embarassing moment of the week goes to monday night when I had to explain why thrush cream may be required when breastfeeding at our antenatal class. If you really want to know....google it!

PLans for the next wee while include finishing off the nursery, which is currently being painted 'palest green', by building the furniture ( I can see stress in my future!) and a cinema visit for Pirates of the Carribean.

Thats all for now*

kara is a design genius!

Well look at my fabulous new blog design. All credit goes to Kara, as its all her hard work and creativity. A huge thankyou to her!

Things here continue to progress well on the baby-to-be front. Had a rather exhausting day at the Baby Show in Glasgow last Sunday, but we managed to order the micski mobile (ie the pram) in striking red, pick up some baby leg warmers and get some free samples of nappy cream and wipes. This weekend my brother is here to help H lay the floor in the nursery. Im just glad I got out of assistance duty as H and I dont have a very good track record in the DIY and patience area :)

Non baby-wise all goes smoothly. H is looking forward to starting his new job with the environmental consultancy and as he says getting away from all the moaning old men he works with at the moment. We've also got a few days away booked in Arran. A last escape before I get too big to move... The social calendar still manages to fill up and plenty of catch ups are booked with those who are keen to see us before we become parents and as some seem to think never leave the house again!

Today I am doing my housewife thing, with a day off work I have the washing machine on and cleaning on the schedule.

Long time no post.
Heres the most recent shot of my ever expanding stomach (or to be amatomically correct my uterus). Dont you love the outfit also?
Have just had an exhausting day teaching Beavers and Cubs (little Scouts, age 5-10) how to build oragami boats. H had volunteered us to help out at a big Scout gathering - he knows a leader through work. It was fun but I'll be very glad if I dont see a paper boat in a long time.
I realise I haven't posted anything about our recent big trip and I do have a notebook full of scribbles which I hope to get on here at some stage. The pictures are up at Flickr already and explanantions should follow here at some point....fingers crossed.
OK, off to take the weight off my bump.
Take care y'all*

simple

Hello, its still me here I have just changed my template. Its 'Simple' and shall stay so until I discover a design which incorporates cats and babies and all my other little obsessions.
'Simple' it shall be for while I feel*
